The Swiss Society of Ophthalmology (SSO)
The Swiss Society of Ophthalmology (SSO) was founded in 1907. The SSO represents the interests of Swiss ophthalmologists in matters of professional policy and is committed to the provision of high quality training, further training and continuing medical education of the next generation of specialists for the benefit of patients. It coordinates cooperation with national and international associations, societies, professional groups and institutions, promotes research and innovation in the field of ophthalmology and informs the public on current healthcare topics on the subject. The SSO is committed to achieving the best possible framework conditions for ophthalmologists practising in Switzerland and their patients. The specific concerns of our members, professional policy issues and strategic measures for the future of the SSO are all equally important in our work.
